There’s no bigger tribute to your favourite band than etching their name into your skin. But there are right ways to get band tattoos, and there are horrifically terrible ways to get band tattoos.

Want to see some band tattoos done right? Morrissey fans, for the most part, get it. Want to know how to do it all god damn wrong? Look no further than the Drake face-tat girl, Earth Crisis logo guy, and, like, the person who got photorealistic ink of Ian Watkins’ mugshot (captioned with “Mega LOLZ,” naturally).

Of course, most awful band tats aren’t nearly as bad as those examples, but still: There are tons, and we mean tons, of terrible musical tattoos floating around. We’ve compiled a few of our, uh, favourites—can you spot the musicians who inspired ’em? Good luck. We barely can.
