Limp Bizkit’s new song is bad, even for them. It lacks the ironic charm of “Shark Attack” and the comedy of Lil Wayne’s guest rap in “Ready to Go.” No, “Endless Slaughter,” or “Endless Laughter” as it should be called, is downright unlistenable, a hodgepodge of confusing, slurred lyrics and on-a-dime stylistic changes. After one listen, hopefully our last, it had us thinking: Who’s still buying into this?

And the answer is criminals.

A few months back in Manchester, an enterprising, sticky-fingered Limp Bizkit fan took it upon himself to start stealing phones. By the end of the show, dude had managed to grab 27 smart phones from unsuspecting concertgoers. He was caught within days.

At his prosecution yesterday, Stefu Costel admitted he stole the phones—no huge feat, since police found them all in a bag at a search of his Chorlton apartment—but his defendant claimed the act was the result of an “acute psychotic disorder,” adding that Costel “wanted to return to Romania,” his place of birth.

If that wasn’t weird enough, the presiding judge somehow took that to mean Costel was lending “his nation a bad name.”

Costel, who was also jailed for stealing phones at Reading Festival last year, is not believed to have acted alone.

“It was an organized and planned theft most likely committed by more than one person with a degree of skill used,” said prosecutor Tim Greenald.

The Judge was quick to get the verdict rolling. After handing down her sentence, she said Costel’s crimes were more than simple pick-pocketing. “These are offenses that are a plague on all of us.”

Also a plague on all of us? The prospect of a new Limp Bizkit record. Yikes. That song is so bad! [h/t AltPress]
