In both life and death, Kurt Cobain made a lot of money. And why not? Nevermind and In Utero were commercial smashes, and years after their release, their legacies are still producing must-have merch (Nevermind jigsaw puzzle, anyone?). Indeed, the Nirvana singer made tons of cash—enough that he made his daughter, Frances Bean, an immediate millionaire when she turned 18. Enough that his estate was valued at a whopping $450 million. Enough that Courtney Love was temporarily frozen out of his trust after $8 million—pocket change, really—went missing.

Well, according to the Hole singer, that’s not all she spent.

“I lost about $27 million. I know that’s a lifetime of money to most people, but I’m a big girl.”

“It’s rock ‘n roll, it’s Nirvana money,” she told U.K. news outlet the Sunday Times. “I had to let it go… I make enough to live on. I’m financially solvent. I focus on what I make now.”

We can hear the jokes already: It looks like Love took her own advice, as per the chorus of “Violet.”

It’s unclear how much of Cobain’s money Love has remaining; Frances Bean now controls the Nirvana singer’s estate, but she still owns plenty of his belongings (like a big chunk of his personal belongings). Still, Courtney-killed-Kurt truthers shouldn’t get too upset over her squandering of Cobain’s money—as Love explains, she lost the money settling lawsuits throughout the years.

That, of course, should come as no surprise to anyone, as Love’s lawsuits have been very public: There was the Twitter defamation trial, which roped in Canadian music personality Alan Cross. And there was the battle she waged against Nirvana’s remaining members over ownership of unreleased Nirvana songs.

And Love isn’t lying about making enough money on her own: She’s working on a Cobain biopic, toying with the idea of reuniting Hole, and solving global mysteries. So, like, let’s cut a girl some slack, alright?
