A teacher in Florida was suspended after using an uncensored Lil Wayne song to teach her students about different literary devices.

The 8th grade instructor said she handed out the lyrics to “Six Foot Seven Foot” because her students were struggling with Edgar Allen Poe and Shakespeare.

“Students were having difficulty grasping  the concepts of literary devices such as: pun, simile, metaphor, so the teacher used colloquial material,” said school headmaster Wayne Owens. “This material did not meet the school’s standards and was not approved.  The teacher recognizes that it was totally inappropriate for a school assignment.”

Parents, perhaps understandably, were not happy.

Not only does the song drop 10 f-bombs, but it also loops around adultery, misogyny, crime and, in Weezy fashion, gibberish. Still, the similes!

Like this one, in the second verse: Bitch, real G’s move in silence like lasagna, which, like, get it?! Questlove explains:

When you pronounce “lasagna”, the G is silent (inEnglish. In Italian the “GN” sound is similar to the “ñ” in Spanish). Real gangsters (Gs) move in silence too — they keep their hustles on the low, and they can literally creep up on you real quiet if the situation calls for it. Also note that lasagna doesn’t have any crunchy bits that would make noise when you bite into it. Thus you’re eating it in silence.

In the teacher’s defence, it is one of Weezy’s more lyrically clever songs. Check the Rap-Genius page if you don’t believe us!
