Asked about his largely white fanbase, Lil Wayne left human hot take machine Skip Bayless speechless.

Lil Wayne’s spirits have been a little low of late. He’s stuck in a brutal legal battle with former father-figure, Birdman, and has been tweeting increasingly ominous messages about him being defenceless and mentally defeated. Add in the occasional sizzurp-spurred seizure, and we can safely say that dude’s life could use a little help right now.

It’s with these caveats that we’re giving this next statement some cautious side-eye: On Fox Sports 1’s Undisputed, Weezy offered a take so hot not even noted troll and cohost Skip Bayless would touch it.

Reflecting on a past concert that was filled with a mostly-white audience, Wayne responded by saying that he “thought that was clearly a message that there was no such thing as racism.”

“A lot of white kids love rap,” said Bayless. “Explain that.”

Wayne did, and then clarified. He thinks the younger generation os moving away from racism, because it’s “not cool to them,” and he said that his fans have “always been everybody.”

“When I come up off the stage, and I open my eyes, I see everybody. I don’t see… I don’t have this type of crowd, or that type of crowd. My crowd has always been everybody, thank god.”

Weezy, we get what you’re trying to say. But duuuuude did you ever whiff on this one. [h/t Pitchfork]
