You’d think the world was ending this weekend when Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen announced he was taking the astronomically popular game offline, but then reality set in. Sort of. After all, you could simply not delete the game from your phone and it would still exist. You could disable automatic application updates to prevent bitter, game breaking changes. And inevitably, clones would come out, and they are: There’s FlappyDoge, Fly Birdie, Clumsy Bird and… Fall Out Bird.

Yes, it’s what you think it is. Announced late last night on Facebook, Fall Out Boy revealed that their Flappy Bird-inspired game would be coming out this week to Google Play and the Apple App Store—pending approval, of course. Details are otherwise sparse, but then how much could there really be to it? An image on Facebook indicates that the bird will be replaced by one of four Fall Out Boy members, and we’ll assume they’ll either rotate or be selectable. Still, there are some questions.

Will the game be soundtracked? Will they be MIDI covers, or the real deal? Or, as one Facebook fan commented, will we get parodies?

Where is your bird tonight I hope he is a flappy one…

Stay tuned for the game’s release. In the meantime, don’t give into the urge to spend $1,500 on a phone with it still installed… resist and just, like… go outside or something.
