Perennial “cool mom” contender Madonna has herself in trouble over an Instagram post for the second time in as many weeks, drawing the ire of the online community after dropping the n-bomb on the popular social photo sharing app.

Seen above, the now-deleted post of her son Rocco was captioned #disnigga, and ever the asshole, Madonna quickly came on the defensive when people rightfully took notice. She took the photo down, then reposted it with the similarly stupid “#get off my dick haters” hashtag. Perhaps upon realizing that hashtags don’t work with spaces, or perhaps on the advice of literally anyone with a brain, that caption (and image) quickly joined the original in the digital trash.

But the damage was done. Madonna, who earlier this month uploaded a shot of 13-year-old Rocco clutching a seemingly half drank bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin eventually apologized in typical Madge fashion: half-heartedly.

“I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur.. I am not a racist,” she said in a now deleted Instagrammed apology. “There’s no way to defend the use of the word. It was all about intention… It was used as a term of endearment toward my son who is white. I appreciate that it’s a provocative word and I apologize if it gave people the wrong impression. Forgive me.”

Is it fair to criticize her parenting? Probably not. But at this point we’re at least confident enough to call her an idiot. This is the time for parents to be teaching their kids about responsible use of social media; that their words are there forever, and to use it wisely. As this story proves, deleting something doesn’t make it go away. Be smarter, Madonna. For fuck’s sake.
