Paul McCartney tries and fails to win a free Brooklyn Nets shirt

Sir Paul McCartney is worth more than $800 million dollars, a Knighted Member of the British Order and a key cog in the biggest band of all time, but free is free and last night the former Beatles bassist let out his wild site at a Brooklyn Nets game when game ops staff got to the “free t-shirt” point of the basketball game.

But in a fitting holiday narrative, McCartney’s attempts proved futile, proving that money and fame can’t buy you everything. Actually, it could probably buy him that same shirt pretty easily, but where’s the fun in that? The entire incident was thankfully captured on camera, and all jokes aside, was pretty charming. Watch as 71-year-old icon gives it his all. The disappointment on his face when someone else catches it is crushing.
