Lady Gaga’s got big plans for her upcoming album Artpop but it’s not until 2015 that she’ll really take things to the next level. We mean that literally—that’s when she’s set to launch into outer-freaking-space as part of the Zero-G Music Tech Festival.

“She has to do a month of vocal training because of the atmosphere,” a source told US Weekly. The details on how to catch the performance are still sparse, but we’d imagine catching it live will cost more than a pretty penny.

So far all we know is that she’s lifting off out of New Mexico’s Spaceport America in a Virgin Galactic ship, which by that point will already be operating commercially. Another source says that yes, Gaga’s taken out quite the life insurance policy of this. Here’s hoping she’s still huge in 2015, eh?

Rolling Stone adds to the story that Sarah Brightman’s got a similar venture set for 2015—she’s training for a ten day stint on the International Space Station where she’s hoping to sing. Time will tell who will be the first to sing in space, but that it looks unlikely to be will.i.am at this point is good enough for us.
