Greg Ginn’s incredibly petty lawsuit against Keith Morris, Bill Stevenson and the rest of FLAG has been thrown out of a California court, allowing both the reformed Black Flag and the newly instituted tribute act to continue concurrently.

While accusing everyone from Morris to Henry Rollins (who isn’t currently involved in either act) of abusing Black Flag’s iconic black bars logo, the court ruled that Ginn and his SST label have no exclusive copyrights concerning the band. Furthermore, the court has sealed an old argument—legally, Henry Rollins never quit.

FLAG have pointed out further details in the suit, among them that Ginn and SST abandoned any exclusive rights to the Black Flag trademark by not filing any documents on it for the past 30 years. More importantly, the court ruled that fans are smart enough to distinguish between both acts; while each is going to play classic material, only Black Flag plans on releasing anything new.
