Last week, Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin was arrested for vandalizing a neighbour’s patio. Or, more accurately, sources say he took a sledgehammer and buzzsaw to it, destroying a wall separating both properties.

His neighbour, electro singer Sasha Gradiva, was the one responsible for putting Scantlin behind bars (albeit temporarily). According to her, he has been feuding with her for a year. “He gets really creative with his ideas to annoy me,” she told The Hollywood Reporter. “He put a huge flag on the border of my wall. On my side, it had the name of his band. On the other, it was an American flag. So whoever would look at it from the street would just see an American flag and from my windows, I just see a big flag with ‘Puddle of Mudd’ written on it.”

But the incident that had Scantlin arrested was much worse: He destroyed cinderblocks separating both patios, then allegedly eluded police by locking himself inside his house. Today, the “Stoned” singer finally defended his behaviour, saying the land beneath her patio is technically his, and was taken over by the previous neighbour. “I was arrested for vandalizing my own property,” he also told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m not sure if I have to call the police every time that I’m getting ready to repair my house.”
