John C. Reilly has already released a pair of singles via Jack White’s Third Man label, and according to an interview with Billboard, he has plans to make a full-length record with White in the near future.

For Reilly, laying music is a labour of love: “I’m not saying I’m as good as the people that came before me, but I’m still alive, and someone’s gotta carry the torch.”

His new record will likely feature collaborations with Tom Brosseau (the Living Sisters) and Becky Stark (the Decemberists), who were his collaborators on previous Third Man recordings.

Working with Jack White came about organically for John C. Reilly, after he convinced White to play Elvis Presley in Walk Hard. According to Reilly, the two kept in touch, and White made him an offer he couldn’t refuse: “if you ever want to do anything and want it to be recorded, you should come down to Nashville. I have this recording studio. You can stay at my house and we can have a record out in 24 hours.”

Abide by Brule’s Rules, and check out some of Reilly’s music below, and stay tuned for more from the actor-turned-country-crooner.
