Ever the philanthropist, Billboard is reporting today that Jack White has donated $200,000 to the National Recording Preservation Foundation, U.S. Congress established initiative that is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.
Ever the philanthropist, Billboard is reporting today that Jack White has donated $200,000 to the National Recording Preservation Foundation, a U.S. Congress established initiative that is pretty much exactly what it sounds like.
The money helps make the foundation operational, with its executive director Gerald Seligman calling it a “game changer.”
“With this contribution we can now put up our basic structure, begin enacting the preservation plan – and give out our first grants,” said Seligman in a statement. “We’re committed to doing that right away, and certainly within the coming months.”
