Andrew WK successfully plays drums for 24 straight hours

Maybe you heard and maybe you didn’t, but yesterday Andrew WK completed the unnecessary but impressive challenge of playing the drums for 24 straight hours. Sort of, anyways.

Anyone who watched the live stream (which was at times oddly mesmerizing, at others kind of sad) may have seen the party king step away. That’s because he got 5-minutes per hour to do his business. He’d said originally that he could “urinate, defecate or vomit” behind the kit, but luckily that didn’t happen.

But enough nitpicking! In doing this, WK breaks the oddly specific record for “longest drum session in a retail store,” and he did it with the help of some friends, including but not limited to ?uestlove, Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and even Cuba Gooding Jr., seen here terrorizing a cowbell.

Towards the end of the stream you could see Andrew WK becoming noticeably more sluggish, but it didn’t stop him.
