Kid Rock keeps it so real it hurts. Whether or not you're a fan of his music, the guy puts on an astounding live show complete with the right mix of enthusiasm, showmanship and strippers, and for his next tour he's willing to lose a lot of money to make his mark.

Kid Rock keeps it so real it hurts. Whether or not you’re a fan of his music, the guy puts on an astounding live show complete with the right mix of enthusiasm, showmanship and strippers, and for his next tour he’s willing to lose a lot of money to make his mark.

“No problem. I make a lot of money. I can take a pay-cut,” he told Piers Morgan the other night. And a pay-cut he shall take. His $20 Best Night Ever tour is just what it sounds like, offering a full-fledged stage show at prices set not to make the working man scoff.

“It could [cost me] from 50 to 100 grand a night, it looks like,” he explained. “But somebody’s got to try it, and I’m in a position where I can.”

Kid Rock calls high ticket prices for Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake’s Legends of the Summer Tour garbage. “It’s highway robbery,” he said. “I don’t care who you are. I would consider both of them in the circle of friends in the business, but I don’t agree with it.”

In addition to low ticket prices, low shirt prices (also $20) and cheap beer ($4 for 12oz. in the U.S.), he’s also promising free coffees post-gig sponsored by Jimmy John’s. The tour is unfortunately not schedule to come to Canada, which is a shame for the few fans he’s got ready to rock the wife-beater up in this great white North country of ours.

“I’m going to scalp 1000 of my own tickets,” he later joked. “A lot of artists already do it. I think I’ve been guilty of it in the past too. We take some of our tickets, we put them on StubHub, overcharge and look what the market determines they’re worth… I’m taking 1000 of them and I’m scalping them.” [via Hip-HopDX]
