It seems like there’s an Illuminati conspiracy for, well, just about anything these days. It only makes sense that references to the fabled secret society could surface during the Super Bowl, America’s biggest sporting event of the year.

Beyoncé’s half-time show seemed to inspire most of the paranoid speculation on Twitter last night. If you watch the video above, you can see a two-minute chunk of Bey’s performance, paired with the real-time search results of “Beyonce Illuminati.” The tweets scroll by faster than you can read them, sometimes racking up more than ten per second.

Hilariously, when Bey flashed the ROC symbol during her performance, more than a few viewers interpreted it as Illuminati imagery:




To be fair, shortly after she got off stage, the lights in the stadium went out unexpectedly, causing over thirty minutes of game delay. HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT, BEYONCÉ ILLUMINATI CONSPIRACY DENIERS?
