A.J. McLean says Ryan Gosling was maybe almost in the Backstreet Boys

A.J. McLean confirmed the rumours that yeah, Ryan Gosling maybe could have been a Backstreet Boy way back when. The story is that he was living in the same apartment complex as Maclean, but said he didn’t think the band would go anywhere.

“We were like, it’s never going to happen,” said Gosling to Celebuzz. “Didn’t they already do that with New Kids? You’re a little late. Cut to… I was wrong.”

He was wrong. But McLean told TMZ that he never called Gosling back because he didn’t have his number, adding that “he can sing his ass off.”

“When I see you at the gym, let’s finally exchange numbers,” said MacLean. “If we ever want a sixth Backstreet Boy, we’ll call you…”

We can see it now: Ryan Gosling on stage, dancing in sync and singing in that asinine accent he puts on in every movie (even though he’s from fucking London, Ontario).
