Yeah, Thriller was released in 1982, but two years later a bunch of the higher ups at CBS Records decided to throw a party at the American Museum of Natural History to celebrate its monumental sales achievements. It was a Black Tie affair and invites were, naturally, printed on a replica of the King’s infamous white gloves. And now, thanks to eBay being weird and awesome, you can buy one of those gloves. So far nobody’s made a bid, and the price starts at an already steep $299, but who wouldn’t want to own a weird, useless piece of history such as this?

The story, per MJ fan blog Michael Jackson For All Time, is that Jackson himself requested the party be held at the Museum because of his love of animals and “natural history.” There were apparently 1500 of these cloth gloves mailed out for the party, during which Michael and Brooke Shields reportedly led VIP guests through an impromptu tour of the museum. The auction ends in 2 days, so get bidding, weirdos!
