Lil Wayne still says he’s retiring, but in a new interview with MTV News seems to have pushed the deadline up a bit. While he was originally going to call it quits when he hits 35, Weezy now says he’s done as soon as Tha Carter 5 drops.
The catch? We don’t really know when that’ll be, and he’ll likely toss out a handful of albums before that happens. Case in point, he dropped this nugget while promoting his next album, I Am Not a Human Being II.
“I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14. I’m 30 now,” he told MTV News. “To just keep it goin’ like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I’m fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great.”
I Am Not a Human Being II is out February 19, 2013.
