When Justin Bieber tweeted that someone had stolen a laptop containing personal footage, the assumption was that we’d be forced into seeing some pretty awkward and compromising pictures in the near future, but it turns out it was all just an elaborate ruse to help hype his new music video.

Justin Bieber gives himself director credits on the “Beauty and the Beat” clip, which is a sometimes dizzying five-minutes of people dancing like goofs and partying “like it’s 3012,” whatever that means. And speaking of goofs, requisite pop-weirdo Nicki Minaj fills her obligation to be in every video ever when she guests wearing a pink tutu and grinds with Bieber, which is absolutely as awkward as it sounds.

So, basically there’s no scandal here, just a five minute video that ends with a prolonged splash fight.
