Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first single “Love Me Do,” and to kick-off a weekend celebration of the song 1631 Brits took to the streets in Liverpool to sing the song.
Confirmed by a Guinness World Records adjudicator, the BBC says the celebration broke a record set in 2011 when nearly 900 Chicagoans got together to sing “Danke Schoen” to celebrate Ferris Bueler’s Day Off‘s 25th anniversary.
