Lil Wayne’s Dedication 4 mixtape finally arrived yesterday, and the verse getting the most attention isn’t even uttered by Weezy himself. A couplet from Wayne’s Young Money cohort Nicki Minaj (in a freestyle overtop of the beat from Kanye West’s “Mercy”) has shocked the hip-hop world, and injected some politics into Weezy’s mixtape.

It’s hard to say whether or not Nick Minaj is being serious, since she’s known for utilizing different characters and personalities in her music. Is Roman Zolanski a Romney supporter, or Nicki really backing the Mitt-ster?
When President Obama made a pre-taped video appearance at Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival this weekend, we assumed that all of hip-hop was in Barry’s corner.
