When the London Olympics were over, all the surrounding hoopla and fanfare seemingly went with it, unfortunately forcing the Paralympic Games to go by mostly unnoticed. But while the sporting events might not have gotten the coverage the athletes deserves, its closing ceremonies brought in some big names to shine a light on the incredible athletes who participated in this year’s games.
Watch above to see Jay-Z, Rihanna and Coldplay perform “Run This Town” and “Paradise,” the latter of which includes a new verse by Jay-Z written exclusively for the ceremonies.
“The thought behind the verse is, anyone with a disability, just wants a sense of normality – that’s why they’re competing in these games,” he explained on his website. “That was the idea to make the verse as inclusive for as many people, and to make it as normal as possible.”
