Chris Martin almost instigates an accidental Married at First Sight scenario

You’re always taking a big risk when engaging in a public wedding proposal, but having a big name musician in your corner usually helps smooth things over and get that elusive ‘yes.’ Of course, that’s assuming the star in question identifies the correct proposee, which apparently isn’t a given when you’re dealing with Chris Martin.

Over the weekend at a show in Melbourne, head Coldplayer Chris Martin, a self-admitted ‘sucker for this shit,’ invited two fans onstage for a planned proposal in front of 50,000 screaming fans. Only problem: one of those fans was not planning on getting engaged at all, and just took the opportunity to get onstage.

Well, at least things worked out: the right woman did eventually materialize, and the fans got hitched without a hitch. So much so, in fact, that another onstage proposal happened the next night, at the same venue:

The Coldplay ‘Marryin’ Around the World’ tour continues in Sydney tomorrow, so get your marriage proposal plans sorted now. Just make sure you get engaged to the right person.
