No Doubt’s new single sounds like a band grasping at straws. Produced by Diplo, the title track off Push and Shove can’t decide which era it’s trying to recapture, and it comes off a bit messy because as a result. On its own, the classic, big-voiced chorus is solid sounding, but the bouncy verses and awkward rocksteady-referencing rhymes seem totally separate from the track’s main hooks. Then there’s the ending, which wouldn’t be out of place in a Taio Cruz song. Yikes.

Check out the track below and decide for yourself whether it’s up your alley. We probably don’t have to tell you that Ryan Seacrest premiered the song earlier, since his name is tagged throughout the stream. Hey, it’s still better than DJ Clue or Funkmaster Flex screaming at you.
