In other words, AFI's Davey Havok is replacing Gwen Stefani in No Doubt.

In your ultra-weird supergroup news of the day, the gothy punk guy who sang “Silver and Cold” is in a band with the guys who backed Gwen Stefani on “Spiderwebs.”

Yep, out of absolutely nowhere AFI’s Davey Havok and all the members of No Doubt who weren’t married to the dude from Bush have announced that their supergroup is now a thing.

This isn’t some half-formed idea following a drunken night out that ended with “Hey, we should totally be a band!” Although the project is yet to be named, they’ve already recorded an entire album (this according to their reps, which they apparently have as well).

Understandably, there’s some trepidation from the masses on how this is going to turn out – even fans of both bands are a little wary. Suggested band names from the peanut gallery include “Some Doubt,” “Quite a Bit of Doubt” and AUX office favourite “No Fire Inside” (AFI is most popularly thought to be an acronym for A Fire Inside).

Me, I’m an optimist. Wicked singer, super tight band – I’m going for “Some Manner Of Fire Inside, Even If Just A Wee One.”

I may need to cut that down a bit.
