To learn actual facts about John Lennon that don’t just involve huge puzzles, check out AUX TV’s British Invasion marathon from August 25 to 26. Tune in to win a Blur box set.

On of the most striking images of the extremely GIF-able Olympic closing ceremony was the enormous jigsaw puzzle which came together to form the face of John Lennon. It was pretty serious looking. And it turns out one of the volunteers being relied on to pull the whole thing off lives in a town small enough that the local paper interviewed her.

Hailing from Exmouth, a town of just under 36,000, Cherry Yeandle details the nerves and surprising lack of preparation that went into pulling off the spectacular visual:

We never actually rehearsed in the stadium. The first time we did it was on the night. We were pretty frightened it wasn’t going to work. It hadn’t always worked and come together.

Read the entire interview and feel yourself swell with Exmouth pride.
