Even when she’s not being a knob, Madonna just can’t seem to catch a break. Let’s recap: right after a Colorado theatre was shot up during a screening of The Dark Knight Rises, she came out and said she’s not about to stop pointing guns at the audience during her show.

Then there was a scandal in France that started because she’d plastered swastikas all over Marine Le Pen’s forehead on screen during her concerts. To keep the peace, she decided to hold an exclusive theatre gig for 3000 fans. She played for 45 minutes, leaving thousands of fans who’d paid inordinate amounts of money furiously chanting that she was a slut (or whore, or bitch, depending on your interpretation of the French word “salope”).

The point is it’s happened again: for the first time in a long time, Madge came out and made a stance on something important, even if she did it typical attention grabbing fashion, and for the second time in as many weeks, she’s been called a slut because of something she did on stage.

Here’s what happened: while in Russia, Madonna told a crowd of 20,000 fans that Pussy Riot paid the price for their protest and that she “prays for their freedom.” And then she took off her shirt, because even in her 50s that’s what Madonna does, revealing the band’s name written on her back. NME also reports that she performed “Like A Virgin” wearing a balaclava not unlike the ones the Russian trio’s been known to adorn.

But as harmless as her protest was, one Russian politician took notice, and he took to Twitter to voice his frustrations. And like any honest politician, he called her a slut. Wait, what?

Or, as the Guardian translates it, “With age, every former s. tries to lecture everyone on morality,” with “s.” in this case referring to Madonna as a slut. He then went a step further, replying to a fan that Madonna should “Either take off the cross or put on [under]pants.”

Super classy. The politician behind these tweets is Dmitry Rogozin, a Russian diplomat, former NATO Ambassador, current head of the Military Industrial Commission and, according to Wikipedia, a “rude person.”
