In an interview with MTV News this weekend, Chief Keef announced that he would be signing a deal with Interscope Records. The details of the signing have yet to be announced, but Keef said that he was “talking to a lot of labels,” and decided to go with Interscope because it meant he’d be label-mates with 50 Cent and Eminem.

He’s also hoping to sign a publishing deal with Dr. Dre.

This probably means we’ll be seeing a lot more of Chief Keef in the near future. If Interscope label-boss Jimmy Iovine is involved in the deal at all, prepare to see Chief Keef wearing Beats By Dre headphones constantly, doing featured verses on Lana Del Rey songs, and guest mentoring on American Idol next season.

Chief Keef made a lot of noise this year with his single “I Don’t Like,” especially after Kanye West and the G.O.O.D. Music crew remixed it. This led many to believe that Keef would be signing with Kanye’s label, but it looks like Jimmy Iovine was more persuasive.
