50 Cent parodies MTV Cribs with 'In Da Hostel'

While the smart money on 50 Cent’s ‘bankruptcy’‘ is it being a ploy to avoid paying the $5 million (which is, like, 20 bucks to the guy) awarded to the woman whose sex tape he posted online, he’s got to keep up appearances.

Fiddy already claimed his cash stacks posted on Instagram were fake and that his luxury cars were rented, so the next step of shilling for ridiculous products was only a step away.

Here’s the thing though: his recently released ad for online hostel booking platorm Hostelworld is amazing. The geniuses at UK ad agency Lucky Generals came up with the concept of 50 loosely recreating his original MTV Cribs appearance. This time, instead of showing off a 23-room mansion and borrowed exotic supercars, the rapper rolls through a Barcelona hostel, highlighting its affordable luxury or, as the tagline says, “all the bling without the sting.”

Anyone who’s ever seen an episode of Cribs will recognize the ad’s perfect piss-take of the series’ concept and shooting style – except the ad is arguably funnier and somehow boasts higher production value. Check out bankruptcy-era 50 Cent’s dope ass crib below:
