Listen to Soundgarden's first new song in 15-years, "Live to Rise"

It’s been over a year since Soundgarden announced they were working on a new album, and twice that since they reunited, but after an extended leave the grunge rock icons are back with their first new music since 1996’s Down on the Upside.

Set to appear on the soundtrack for upcoming super-hero flick The Avengers, “Live to Rise” is Soundgarden’s first single since they released a trio of reworked b-sides following their reunion in 2010. “Live to Rise” isn’t expected to be part of Soundgarden’s yet to be titled 6th album, which Cornell expects could be out by Fall of this year.

The Avengers soundtrack, Avengers Assemble, hits stores on May 1st.
