Say what you will about the man behind the Deadmau5 mask, but Joel Zimmerman’s never been anything but candid. In an interview with Carson Daly, he talks about the spectacle of a modern EDM show before reminiscing on his humble beginnings trolling underground parties in his home town of Toronto.

“In Toronto, I would go to Sam the Record Man, buy some dodgy ass ticket that basically said, ‘meet at Union Square, get on this stupid smelly bus and they’re going to take you to god knows where and let’s just hope that the police don’t bust this one this time’,” he said. “I’ll never be able to legally recreate that kind of thing, but that’s something I miss.”

The whole interview is worth watching, so check it out above. [via Spin]
