Deadmau5 is dropping a new album soon, and if you don't like it, that's cool – neither does he.
Canadian producer Deadmau5 is dropping a new album on December 2, and if you don’t like it, that’s cool. Because Deadmau5 doesn’t like it either.
The mouse-head-crowned EDM star (whose birth name is Joel Zimmerman and not, in fact, Deadmau5) recently went off on Twitter about his disdain for his forthcoming eighth studio record, W:/2016ALBUM/. He’s affectionately terming it, “so fucking rushed,” while gushing that it was “slapped together.”
It begs the question: why put out a record if you don’t even like it? Zimmerman was equally candid about that:
Neon lights ain’t cheap, so it’s easy to imagine that replacing the eyeballs in his mouse helmet would add up. Plus, you know, hydro and food bills and shit.
