There was a time when Slipknot’s biggest export was hideous orange jumpsuits, but over the past few years the nu-metal collective has ditched the masks (off-stage, at least) and started solidifying their band as a brand. Aside from the usual endorsements, they’ve written books, given lectures and worked on video games. Now Rolling Stone reports that two of the band’s most recognizable figureheads have started a film company, Living Breathing Films, which they plan to fully unveil at this year’s Sundance festival.

“Our movies are going to be psychological. They’re going to affect you,” says Shawn “Clown” Crahan, who started the company with vocalist Corey Taylor. “When The Exorcist came out people got up and left after 15 minutes and that turns us on. If I haven’t got someone to leave in five minutes for at least one of my films then I’m not doing my job.”

As for what they’ll bring to Sundance, since they can’t exactly show up empty handed, Crahan says he and Taylor shot a short film this past weekend.

“We basically got burlap bags, put them on our heads and then got zip tied and I forced us to walk through thorns,” he said.

Naturally the duo plan on scoring the films themselves, with Crahan eventually hoping to hop in the director’s chair and Taylor aspiring to write and star in his own films. All in all, this sounds like a great business venture. Watch your back, WWE Studios.
