Residents in Bowmanville, Ontario were startled yesterday when an explosion rattled a dilapidated (and unoccupied) house yesterday as part of a rumoured Our Lady Peace video shoot.
The Toronto Star reports that a half-dozen firefighters were at the scene, where the explosion was reportedly seen as far as two kilometres away.
James Sled, special effects coordinator for NEXUS Canada, says that the explosion used more explosives than fuel, explaining why the house remained standing after the blast.
No word yet on what song the shoot was for, but property owner Alan Schwarz all but confirmed to the Durham Region paper that the explosion was for an Our Lady Peace video, saying that he met the band on site earlier last week.
Because we’re sure you’re curious, watch the blast up top.
