Garbage have been working on their hiatus-ending fifth album for a while, and they finally have some firm details in place: Not Your Kind Of People will be out on May 15 through the band’s own label, STUNVOLUME.

“We got some offers from some majors, but at this point I feel it’s better for us to control exactly what we want to do and not have to deal with any other corporate decisions,” drummer/producer Butch Vig told Billboard earlier this month. “We have an identity when the four of us make music together, and I think these days it’s good to have a strong identity.”

In a teaser trailer that tags along on a photoshoot with the band, Vig says the album will sound optimistic—and familiar. “It sounds vibe-wise like the first two Garbage records, though sonically, it doesn’t sound like that stuff.” [via Billboard]
