Early reports out of Atlanta suggest that the fight that led to the fatal shooting of rapper Slim Dunkin’ could have started over as little as a piece of candy. Not good candy, either, but that gross, chewy stuff your grandparents have had on their kitchen counter since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

If this sounds crazy, well…it is. According to an Atlanta’s Channel 2 News, the 6 foot 8 rapper was in the studio when he allegedly took a piece of candy another person had seemingly already claimed. A fight ensued and shots were fired. Unfortunately for the investigation, police weren’t called immediately. Instead, they first arrived on the scene at the hospital, meaning they missed out on the chance to talk to any of the dozens of witnesses that were hanging out at the scene preparing for a music video shoot. The police have yet to narrow down any suspects.

A protege of Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame, Slim Dunkin—real name Mario Hamilton—was just 24.
