Deadmau5 gets his very own day dedicated to him in Las Vegas

The day after a big holiday is always kind of a let down, but not THIS year thanks to the mayor of Las Vegas, who has named January 2 after Toronto’s Deadmau5.
The ‘Mau5 is kicking off a residency at the city’s XS Nightclub, and to commemorate it, Mayor Carolyn Goodman has officially proclaimed January 2, 2012 as Deadmau5 Day.
Jesse Waits, co-owner of XS, says in a statement, “The following for Deadmau5 is phenomenal, and I applaud Mayor Goodman for recognizing both his remarkable persona alongside his ability to drive visitor traffic from fans travelling across the globe to experience his live sets.” [via Canoe]
