Coldplay visited Saturday Night Live this weekend, and while there are some videos floating around out there of the band’s two performances, and they are all well and good, they’re not what we’re interested in. We’re interested in this. Chris Martin totally improvising a song with Fred Armisen and Kristen Wiig. Watch it above.
If you’ve never seen the Garth and Kat sketch, it’s the aforementioned comedians appearing as a singing duo on Weekend Update, and though they always claim to be well rehearsed, they make everything up on the spot, watching each other for cues so that they can sing together. This week, Chris Martin joined them, donning a wig and vest just like Garth and Kat always wear. And while the seasoned cast members Armisen and Wiig are often able to get through a song without breaking, the same can’t be said for Marting. But can you blame him? [via Some Kind of Awesome]
