Tonight, at a Brooklyn venue named Shea Stadium, Ted Leo and Titus Andronicus will play a last-minute benefit show to raise money for the National Lawyer’s Guild, a non-profit legal and political organization who “represent progressive political movements, using the law to protect human rights above property interests and to attain social justice.”

The NLG has already been working to obtain information on the coordination of Occupy evictions that have been taking place, like the one overnight without warning in New York last week.

Ted Leo and Titus Andronicus’ Patrick Stickles both penned statements for Leo’s website, with Leo saying “there’s so much to say about it, and we’ll say it together, in person,” while Stickles had a little more to say.

“These lawyers have been massively generous, and we will look forward to putting three thousand dollars into their pockets, so that they may eat, be sheltered, be clothed, and so forth, while they are putting aside their own capitalist dreams for a cause bigger than themselves. We should all be so brave and so generous as these lawyers.” Read the full statement here.

Should you happen to be in Brooklyn tonight, you can find ticket and show info at Ted Leo’s website. [via Brooklyn Vegan
