Let’s be honest for just one second here: does MySpace have a chance? New part-owner Justin Timberlake seems to think so, because, well, he bought part of it, but also because he gave a mini presentation on its future at an invite-only event on the first day of Advertising Week in New York.

The gist of their pitch was turning MySpace into a key music discovery search engine, something that it kind of already was before it ruined everything by clearly not understanding that and becoming increasingly user unfriendly and driving everyone away into the welcoming arms of Facebook, Bandcamp, even Youtube, etc. etc.

According to AdAge, people who attended the event and got a sneak peek at the new site said looked “less trashy.” It’s a start? [via AdAge]
