No Doubt delay new album until next year

We thought No Doubt were set to give us some good album news earlier this summer, and then again a little later when we saw pics of them in the studio with Major Lazer, but the California kids have recently said on their website that the new album won’t see the light of day until sometime 2012.
“Ideally our new record would be coming out this year but it’s just not ready yet. We don’t want to rush this album just to get it out,” reads the post. “This collection of songs means everything to us and our only priority right now is to make sure that it’s the best album we can possibly make. There is still more work for us to do”
WHY. There may be good news in this: it could be so that the album has a better release date to coincide with their rumoured Coachella appearance. Yes. That’s what we’ll believe and will Secret into existence. [via Billboard]
