Neil Young penning his memoir

It seems like Neil Young has taken a step back from pending Buffalo Springfield tour dates to write his life story.

“Neil started a book and said, ‘Don’t mess with the muse, man,'” Stephen Stills said in an interview earlier this month on 97.3 KBCO: World Class Rock.

Yesterday, Young’s publisher, Blue Rider Press, confirmed to the New York Times that the singer is indeed working on his memoir. Tentatively titled Waging Heavy Peace, it will “cover pretty much everything — growing up, music, life,” president and publisher David Rosenthal said. “I am astounded at his memory for detail.”

Waging Heavy Peace will be out in the fall of 2012.
