Joshua Robb, an 8-year-old autistic boy who was missing in Los Angeles for more than 24 hours, was rescued after his father suggested playing some of the boy’s favourite songs, thinking that he might otherwise be frightened by the strangers and loud sounds of a rescue team and their efforts.

“I heard them blaring [Ozzy‘s] ‘No More Tears’ and it was a short time after that we heard the rescuers had found him,” said the boy’s father, Ron Robb.

“He walked toward them and said, ‘Thank you. You saved me,'” said Lt. Rick Els of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. The boy was found a mile away from the school he ran away from.

Another song suggested by the father was Alan Jackson’s “Good Time.” [via NBC]
