At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at 5 artists on the Billboard Music Charts.

#80: Demi Lovato – Skyscraper

For the 10th time, I will refer you to the funniest Jason Derulo Sings His Own Name youtube compilation video of all time. Demi gets it:

FUN FACT: Demi Lovato is probably best known for her role in the insanely cheesy Camp Rock movies, but her first gig was “Angela” on Barney & Friends, along with her pal Selena Gomez. I guess Barney & Friends is this generation’s farm team for pop stardom, ala the Mickey Mouse Club in the 90’s.

#24: Bruno Mars – The Lazy Song

Guy on the far left is totally pondering the high price he has to pay to be in Bruno Mars’ entourage. You can see the turmoil in his eyes.

FUN FACT: Bruno Mars’ real name is Peter Gene Hernandez. According to a google search, he was given the nickname “Bruno” by his family at the age of two, because he then resembled a chunky wrestler by the name of Bruno Sammartino. He took the surname Mars, because he is “out of this world.” Barf.

#24 (Rap Songs): Tinie Tempah – Till I’m Gone feat. Wiz Khalifa

Hierarchy of miscellaneous luggage etymology, in order of perceived coolness: rucksack, trunk, duffel bag, suitcase, fanny pack. You nailed it, Tinie.

FUN FACT: Tinie Tempah’s new single is a certified END OF SUMMER BANGER. Produced by Norwegian duo StarGate, and featuring Wiz Khalifa, this song is going to tear up the charts in August, and (hopefully) launch Tinie to a new level.

#63: Taylor Swift – Mean

Maybe they CAN.

FUN FACT: Taylor Swift raps now. She has found a way to work the first verse of “Lose Yourself” into her concerts this Summer. Totally worth watching:
