Thanks to the trial of Dr. Conrad Murphy (the physician charged with involuntary manslaughter in Michael Jackson‘s death), Janet Jackson will not be at her late brother’s tribute concert because the timing would make things “too difficult”.

In a statement made yesterday, Ms. Jackson echoed the feelings of her brothers Randy and Jermaine who announced earlier that they’d also not be at the MJ tribute, though LaToya and mother Katherine have backed the gig.

Performances by Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Smokey Robinson are scheduled, and comparisons to the VMA’s tribute to Amy Winehouse are being welcomed (by us). [via Rolling Stone]
