Bigmouth Strikes Again.
At the end of the day, it’s Morrissey, so we shouldn’t be too surprised when he speaks his mind in front of a large public audience without really thinking. Most recently, the former Smiths singer has compared the actions of Anders Breivik, the right-wing extremist who carried out a bombing in Oslo and killing spree at a youth camp in Utøya, Norway last week, with the actions of fast food chains.
The Daily Mirror reported that the singer “explained” to an audience in Warsaw, Poland on Sunday: “We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried Shit every day.”
A spokesperson released a statement after the net was flogged with negative reaction towards the remark saying, “Morrissey has decided not to comment any further as he believes his statement speaks for itself.”
