Since crashing his jet ski last weekend into a Miami Beach bridge, where he suffered a broken jaw, fractured wrist and water in his lungs, R&B singer Sean Kingston has been steadily improving in hospital, but he might be served a big fat fine once he gets back on his feet.

Local authorities are apparently looking into the incident and whether it upset the wildlife in the area, namely the manatees (or sea cows). There are strict laws protecting the animals that state water users can not cause a wake, or sea turbulence, in areas populated by manatees. If they do, they’re liable to large fines.

If investigators find Kingston did cause a disturbance, he is likely to face up to $32,500. His passenger, Cassandra Sanchez, was unharmed in the incident and has revealed she will not be pressing charges. [NME]
