At the end of each week, #Top40Tweets lists a cross-section of artists on the current pop charts and puts their tweets on display (along with their current chart number) for your enjoyment/scrutiny. This week, we look at artists on the Billboard Music Charts.
(Uncharted): Major Lazer – Jah No Partial feat. Flux Pavilion
Poor Diplo. Pitchfork just gave Free The Universe a 5.7. Somewhere, Switch is smugly satisfied.
FUN FACT: Not sure if serious.
(Uncharted): Sean Kingston – Beat It feat. Chris Brown & Wiz Khalifa
And then, bam, someone farts in the elevator.
FUN FACT: Sean Kingston just teamed up with (see: got a bunch of cash from) a new social dieting website called DietBet, encouraging his fans to join him in an attempt to shed a few pounds before his new album comes out. As long as he doesn’t sing or rap about date rape, this should be a pretty good endorsement deal for Kingston.
#31 (Hot 100): Wale – Bad feat. Tiara Thomas
There is only one possibility here, and that is obviously a live-action sequel to Wall-E:
FUN FACT: “Bad” featuring Tiara Thomas currently sits at #1 on Urban Radio:
#19 (Hot 100): Taylor Swift – Trouble
What are the odds on Taylor Swift dating the actor who plays Joffrey some time in 2013? I need to call my bookie.
FUN FACT: Apparently, T-Swift is penning a breakup song for Selena Gomez, meaning she’ll lend her very specific and prolific talents in that arena to the subject of the Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez split. So basically, brace yourselves for 10.0 magnitude pop-quake.
#60 (Hot 100): will.i.am – #thatpower feat. Justin Bieber
Let me break you off one from my own private stock, Biebs.
FUN FACT: Words to live by:
