A lot of songs from the long-buzzed upcoming tribute album to Buddy Holly have been appearing online in the past few weeks, including songs from Florence and the Machine, Modest Mouse, and Julian Casablancas, but the latest may be one of the best yet.

In a beautiful, almost hypnotizing duet with producer Jon Brion, too-reclusive pop-pianist Fiona Apple tackles the classic, instantly recognizable “Everyday.” The perfect pop song is stripped down to just some xylophone and a tiny ticking backbeat and it sounds so lovely. Rave On Buddy Holly will be out on June 28, and in the meantime you can listen to the Fiona Apple track below.
